History

The beginning: 1957

Our patés are first made in 1957.

The name, now a watchword for the finest, tastiest and healthiest paté for far around, only came at the end of the 70s. It has endured until today.

Interesting facts:

  • At first only Argeta chicken paté was made
  • Sales of the increasingly renowned product rose by 1500% in just under 30 years (between 1969 and 1998)

A fresh sea breeze: 2001

The need for greater production capacity is becoming more and more evident. As a result paté production is relocated in 2001 to the new location in Izola, a major milestone for Argeta.

Interesting facts:

  • Argeta was gradually given a makeover. The final changes to the packaging and the new design have given Argeta a more attractive, likable exterior
  • Four new pâtés were added to the existing flavours: turkey, beef, chicken liver and Junior

More new flavours: 2003 to 2006

Three new flavours are launched during this period: Argeta Light, Argeta Halal, and the tuna paté, which enjoys great success among lovers of fish spreads. A new Argeta factory opens in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2006. Both the Izola and Sarajevo factories focus on efficiency, safety and reliability when planning their supply systems.

Interesting facts:

  • Annual capacity at the Bosnian plant is 4,500 tonnes (10 tonnes of paté each shift)

2007

Argeta acquires a completely new look: new, modern, more rounded packaging, with a new look and slightly different logo. Finally a paté with a slightly spicy flavour arrives on the market: Argeta’s spicy chicken paté, the eighth in the Argeta range.

Production

The process of developing and making Argeta patés is designed to ensure excellent flavour and quality. Most important is the careful selection of the basic raw materials: meat and fish. The cooked meat is mechanically removed from the bone. Other ingredients are added as needed for their functional properties: vegetable oil, milk proteins, proteins, natural flavourings, salt and flavour enhancer. All the raw materials are carefully selected and controlled.

The entire paté-making process is subject to constant monitoring by our outstanding technicians. They monitor all stages of the production process, from the input controls on all raw materials and packaging, through the inter-phase controls during direct production, to the final product controls. After final microbiological and chemical analysis, and organoleptic testing of the final product, the pâté is dispatched from the warehouse.

Our many years of experience, our good manufacturing practice, our ISO 9001 certification and the introduction of the HACCP system are some of the reasons that you can trust our patés. Just try them.
