Ingredients

  • White wheat flour500 g
  • Lukewarm water270 ml
  • Salt1 tsp
  • Dry yeast7 g
  • Sugar1 tsp
  • Olive oil5 tbsp
  • Sesame seeds3 tbsp

Procedure

Dough:

  1. Place the flour, dry yeast, sugar and salt in a bowl.

  2. Add the olive oil and lukewarm water, then mix the ingredients and knead to form a pliable and elastic dough.

  3. Knead for seven to 10 minutes.

  4. Add the sesame seeds to the dough and briefly knead again.

  5. Cover the bowl with cling film or a damp cloth and put it in a warm place.

  6. Let the dough rise for an hour.

Shaping and baking:

  1. Heat the oven to 170°C.

  2. Turn the dough out onto a flour-dusted surface and shape it into a rectangle with the palms of your hands.

  3. Roll the rectangle of into a loaf and transfer it to an oiled baking tin.

  1. Brush the surface of the bread with milk and sprinkle sesame seeds over the top.

  2. Let the bread rise in the tin for 20 minutes.

  3. Bake at 170ºC for 40 to 45 minutes.

Take the sesame bread out of the baking tin and let it cool.
